This is a short project done for the first round of GDKO2024.
In this project is learned to used shaders and the new particle system of GameMaker2.
The spectacle light shader is downloaded from the gm-store (Lighting System 2D by Jobo), the HTML Version uses a surface based "shader" which I wrote myself after the jam ended and all in-game assets are also from the GameMaker website. Only the UI-Elements are drawn myself.

Story:
You are in a space battle against a giant alien spaceship. Try to destroy all alien-turrets in one minute to win this space fight.

Controls:
W - move forwards
A/D - turn left and right
Space - shoot your explosive laser
Shift - move faster

The arrow points to the nearest enemy. While playtesting I found, that searching for the turrets isn’t fun, so I implemented this.

You get +50 score when destroying a turret, and if all turrets are destroyed before the minute is up, you get an additional score based on the time left.

Files:
- there is a downloadable .zip file containing a .exe file. You only need to extract the .zip into a folder and run the .exe file.
- there´s also a installer available which installs the game on your pc (not recommended, because you have to deinstall it again)
