Dig Deep – Burrow, blast, and brave the depths!
Play as a lone canine explorer in a mysterious world, diving into ancient mines packed with stone, and shimmering ore. Every run is a race against time—dig fast, dig smart, and escape before the cave crashes down around you.

Upgrade your gear, choose your loadout, and push deeper through rifts to uncover rarer treasures.
How deep will you go before it all comes crashing down?

Created for the GDKO 2025 Semi-Finals, where the challenge was to design a mouse-only game using up to 14 given objects—implemented as many as possible!

What I learned this round:
This was my first time using the Game Maker Effect layers. These are used in the Cloud Background, the Vignette Effect and the Wobble inside the Rift and Main Menu.
I also worked more with components and made my first game saving code with json parsing.


Credits:
The Pixelart is mostly done by me, except some sprites used in previous rounds, like the player and UI Boxes. I drew all Rocks and ores, Upgrade Sprites, Item sprites and Hub Background.
The music is from a game maker music pack and the sound effects are mostly from Freesound and some from myself.
